Synology has released there bright new DSM software version 3.2-1922. Most people will love this update and install it as soon as possible, just like me. This new DSM version has some great new features, but unfortunally also a little undocumented feature. If you have installed 3rd party packages like 'Config File Editor' from Remco Schellekens website (http://www.mertymade.com/syno/#cfe). You will notice this packages won't start as it normally does. Well the community has found some solutions to this: There is a simple work around for this. Instead of left clicking the icon of these 3rd party packages, you can right click them and click on 'Open in New window'. Now the 3rd party packages will open in a separated window. Not nice, but it does the trick. If you are satisfied with this solution untill Synology fixes the problem, you are ready to go. If you want to make it work like it did before and don't wait on Synology to fix this problem, you can do the following: Open a SSH session to your Synology and log in as 'root'. First we make a backup of the file we change: your-nas> cp /usr/syno/synoman/webman/sds.js /usr/syno/synoman/webman/sds.js.backup
Now that we have a backup, let's open the file (/usr/syno/synoman/webman/sds.js) and edit it. You need to search and delete the next line: Now save the changes and log off and back into your DSM. All 3rd party software should open in DSM again. TIP!!! If you still encounter the same problem, please clear your browsers cache. Because the cache is still loading the old sds.js file. |
